Guarda oltre la nazionalità, l'educazione sociale o l'età.

Lo si vede chiaramente nell'armoniosa collaborazione tra l'artista irlandese Nuala Goodman e lo stilista indonesiano Weiren Theo. Weiren è una ex studente di Nuala all'università NABA di Milano (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) dove studia fashion design e lei tiene corsi di disegno e design tessile.

Si vede anche attraverso il servizio fotografico a cui hanno partecipato gli studenti di Naba Project Methodology (2D) del primo anno di Nuala, modellando l'abbigliamento, il trucco, coordinando e assistendo i designer, il fotografo e l'organizzatrice/ editore del servizio fotografico

 

Goodman è già nota per i "Wild Tapestries" che realizza mescolando tessuti pregiati e pregiati. Nella creazione di arazzi da parete, Goodman ritorna alle sue radici di pittrice, questa volta sostituendo la pittura con il tessuto. Sono:

 

Antico ma contemporaneo

Punk ma prezioso

Selvaggio ma ordinato

 

Creati appositamente per una mostra ad Amsterdam nel dicembre 2022, diversi ‘arazzi selvaggi’  sono stati trasformati in cappotti. Ciò è stato fatto in collaborazione con lo stilista Weiren Theo che ha adattato il suo classico design del cappotto ai tessuti ‘ Wild Tapestries’di Nuala. Hanno deciso di aggiungere un morbido cappuccio al cappotto, rendendolo rimovibile. …Si è svolta una conversazione creativa, che ha dato vita ai ‘Wild Tapestry Coats’, pezzi d'arte indossabili che possono anche essere appesi a un muro come quadri. Hanno aggiunto "The Artist's Palette" borse a tracolla disegnate da Weiren che fanno riferimento alla tavolozza di un pittore sia nella forma che nel colore .

Gli studenti Naba del primo anno sono stati entusiasti di partecipare a un servizio fotografico: quasi l'intera classe è stata coinvolta nel progetto, rinunciando al tempo libero durante la pausa di metà semestre. Gli studenti si sono relazionati bene con il fotografo Vincent Giordano e il coordinatore/editore Laura Zanoletti che hanno appena 10 anni in più degli studenti Naba ma con 10 anni di esperienza professionale alle spalle.

 

La collaborazione con questo miscuglio di studenti, professori e altri giovani professionisti si è tradotta in una proficua e piacevole collaborazione per tutti.

Creativity transcends boundaries.

 

It looks beyond nationality, social upbringing or age.

This is clearly seen in the harmonious collaboration between Irish artist Nuala Goodman and Indonesian fashion designer Weiren Theo. Weiren is a former student of Nuala's at the NABA university in Milan ( Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti ) where he studies fashion design and she teaches drawing and textile design courses.

It is also seen through the photoshoot that Nuala’s first year Naba Project Methodology students (2D)  particpated in, modelling the clothing, makeup, co-odinating and assisitng the designers, photographer and the organiser of the shoot

 

Goodman is already known for the ‘Wild Tapestries’ that she makes mixing pre-loved and precious textiles. In creating wall tapestries, Goodman returns to her roots as a painter, this time replacing painting with textile.They are:

Ancient yet contemporary

Punk yet precious

Wild yet ordered

 

Created especially for an exhibition in Amsterdam in December 2022 , several slashed, wild tapestries were transformed into coats. This was done in collaboration with fashion designer Weiren Theo who adapted his classic coat design to Nuala’s slashed textiles. They decided to add a soft hood to the coat, making it removable. …A creative conversation took place, resulting in these Wild Tapestry Coats ,wearable art pieces which can also be hung on a wall as paintings.They added ‘The Artist’s Palette’  shoulderbags designed by Weiren which refer to a painter’s palette in both form and colour.

The first year Naba students were enthusiastic to particpate in a photoshoot- almost the entire class was involved in the project, giving up their free time during their mid- term break.The students related well to the photographer Vincent Giordano and co-ordinator/editor  Laura Zanoletti who are just 10 years older than the Naba students but with 10 years of professional experience behind them.

 

The collaboration with this mixture of students, professor and other young professionals  resulted in a fruitful and enjoyable collaboration for everyone.
